It’s the Friday before Memorial Weekend here in the U.S., which means summer is around the corner!
Summer-themed prints seemed like the perfect choice for Fabric Friday.
Here are four, all of which remind me of summer vacation!
Here’s a closer look at each of these fun prints. What would you make with them?

Happy Memorial Day weekend! Enjoy it and thank a service member or veteran if you see one.
It was warm here yesterday. The first sincerely warm day in a very long time. The weatherman insists that there’s still some inclement weather yet to come (just in time for the weekend) so I figured now was my chance to get the first mow of the season done. While mowing the lawn on my Deere, my mini-me was riding around on HER Deere right behind me. While I did the bits along the road (where she’s not allowed), she snuck off and collected some wild daffodils to present to me! She held them behind her back and everything! Her smile, the flowers, the matching Deeres. Lovely day!
So today I selected fabrics inspired by the yellow daffodils that are popping up ALL over now that spring has arrived.

Just in time for spring break, the sun has come out and it finally feels like there is light at the end of the winter tunnel here in the Northeast!
The organic New Leaf collection by Daisy Janie is bright, cheerful and exotic; perfect for a spring or summer project!
I’ll be posting two projects using this collection in the following weeks, so keep an eye out to see these prints in action!

Designer and artist Rob Bancroft created a cool, modern set of retro inspired geometrics on an intimate scale.
(psst! Does this fabric look familiar? That’s because I used it here
I particularly love the mix of modern colors and how they were put together in an unexpected way: makes for a fresh look.
I am hoping to use these in a project soon, any suggestions???
I, for one, am looking forward to the weekend after a hectic week! This weekend is especially welcome as sewing is part of the “To Do” list! There are a few Easter goodies on my list. Which got me thinking an Easter outfit! Normally, I purchase an Easter dress for my daughter; however this year it’s just our little family to celebrate so we are going Easter casual. I wanted to make her a skirt out of one of these little lovelies. I couldn’t quite decide so here is a duo for you!
I’m leaning towards that wonderful chevron but those buttons keep calling out to me!
Which would you vote for?
Happy Friday all!
Geometric prints are my all-time favorite! I carry a ton of them in the shop; however these little guys have really captured my imagination this week. Designer Patty Sloniger presents these four fresh, modern colors from the Les Amis Collection from Michael Miller Fabrics.
Which is your favorite and what will you create??
The green will show up soon on the blog in a Spring project I’m working on, so check back soon!
A month or so ago I was looking over the inventory of the home decor fabrics in the shop searching for new inspiration. When I logged in a few days later to put in an order with my supplier I found these beauties! My imagination went immediately wild!
Sydney is a bold, large scale geometric print in home decor weight fabric in a variety of NEW colors from Premier Prints. All of the fabrics are 100% cotton.
Geometrics hold a special place for me because they allow me to really go wild with ideas. Curtains, pillows, recover furniture, the possibilities are endless!
I whipped up an ironing board color from the Tangelo to brighten up the studio!
